This Golden Milk recipe is one of my favorites for adding Cashew Milk. It’s part of my “go to” bedtime routine that I’ll be sharing in a later post. When Golden Milk is part of my night time ritual, I seem to sleep deeper. It’s the perfect comfort drink after a stressful day.
What makes the Golden Milk golden? By adding Tumeric as the star of the show. Turmeric, known for is anti-inflammatory properties and used medicinally for over 4,000 years, is excellent for arthritis, skin health, digestion, immune system, and even cancer.
You’ll also notice black pepper in the ingredient list. I read somewhere that pepper helps your body absorb the Tumeric. You can also substitute the Cashew Milk if you have allergies.
Ingredients
1 cup cashew milk
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger juice
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1 cinnamon stick
Whipped cream for topping (optional)
The Recipe
Here’s how easy it is:
Warm milk in small sauce pan
Add all other ingredients and stir
Heat until desired temperature (do not boil)
Pour into your favorite mug
Top with whipped cream and garnish with sprinkles of cinnamon and pepper
Add cinnamon stick
